WELCOME TO CENTRL STATION |
Welcome to the June Edition of C/O Digest!
This month, we're sharing what's happening across our Little Tokyo and El Segundo spaces, upcoming events around town, a member spotlight on Mike Hester, Principal and Creative Director of Pavement, a read that makes a surprisingly compelling case for the power of play, your complimentary gif, and more.
This June, we're proud to celebrate both Pride Month and Juneteenth. Pride is a time to honor the LGBTQ+ community and the values of inclusion, diversity, and belonging. Juneteenth marks a pivotal moment in American history and a continued commitment to freedom and equity. At CENTRL, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported, not just this month, but every day.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT |
Meet Mike Hester, Principal and Creative Director of Pavement, an award-winning San Francisco Bay Area branding and packaging studio he founded in 2014.
With a background in fine arts, Mike has built Pavement into a studio that specializes in brand systems and packaging for consumer goods that live on shelves, working with everyone from scrappy startups to household names like Williams Sonoma, Dollar Shave Club, Heirloom Coffee Roasters, and Peet's. It's the kind of work, as Mike puts it, where strategy and art actually talk to each other.
Having been recognized by Communication Arts, Graphis, and Dieline, Pavement is one of the most awarded branding studios of the last decade.
Mike has been a member at our San Francisco location for two months, and so we had to ask: what about CENTRL works for you? "The San Francisco North Waterfront neighborhood is beautiful, and the amenities are great!"
We're so glad Mike found his spot at CENTRL, and even happier to have him as part of our community.

WORKING BETTER |
Between the news cycle, the AI anxiety, and the general noise of modern work life, it's easy to forget that play isn't frivolous. It might actually be essential.
Writer Zander Phelps makes a compelling case that in a culture engineered for outrage, choosing to play is one of the most grounding things you can do. A good one to read slowly.
